Dr. Ning Yeh, the Emmy Award winning master artist and professor has been her main influence and teacher in the Po Mo (throw ink) style of Hsieh-I Chinese Brush Painting since 1990, with whom she has studied with at UCLA, Cerritos and Coastline Colleges. She has also been inspired by her training in traditional Japanese spiritual and cultural art forms. She is a student of the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism and an avid practitioner of Chanoyu (Tea Ceremony) through the Urasenke linage.
Leigha was a scenic painter for the Yani Forbidden City Tour in Beijing, China and also painted scenery for and participated in the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. She has had solo shows in California and Colorado and is an active member of the Crestone, Colorado Artists Group and participates annually in their Open Studios Tour.
Leigha’s lifetime career as a Yoga Teacher has been the perfect compliment to her painting and teaching style. In addition to using classical Chinese Brush Painting techniques and philosophy, breath awareness and centering techniques are used in her teaching to allow the purest artistic expression of each student to emerge.
