Elaine specializes in teaching Traditional Oriental Painting /Sumi painting, Breath Brush Meditation, Watercolors with only Six Tubes and more… in Jacksonville Beach. She teaches both On-Line courses and in-person workshops.
Originally from Chicago, Elaine received her BA in Design from the University of Ilinois, Chicago, a Botanical Illustration Certification from the Morton Arboretum and a Teaching Education Certification from Carlow University in Pittsburgh. Always continuing her education with workshops, she is a member of the Sumi-e Society, American Botanical Society of Artists, Jacksonville Watercolor Society.
For over 30 years she has been teaching all age students step by step instructions. She began learning sumi brush painting at a local art center in Wheaton, IL with her instructor Kazie and continued her journey to help others learn the beautiful and spiritual practices of Chinese brush painting in Chicago, Pittsburgh and now Jacksonville Beach, Fl. She loves to express the beauty of nature.
Her work has been published on the cover of the “Jerusalem Stone” and in the 2020 and 2019 Publications (a) river rising Anthology and Warton Heart.
Her own work is influenced by her insights to her own spiritual journey which has been unleashed, untangled and contemplated with Sumi Brush techniques. Begin where you Are
