General Shipping Policy

Most orders placed with us will be shipped within 1-3 days of your purchase (except when the orders are received over the weekend). In-stock items are shipped using a variety of UPS or USPS standard shipping and most orders should be on your doorstep within 2-8 business days (depending on the shipping method chosen and your region within the United States). Shipping prices can be based on the following parameters:

The shipping delivery option you choose
The weight and dimensions of your items within its packaging
Where your package is being delivered to

ANNOUNCING: New Shipping Method

OAS Value Shipping: "OAS Choice"* (Default)

Starting in late-August of 2017, OAS introduces a new shipping option titled “OAS Choice” shipping. Over the years, OAS has continued to build strong relationships with our shipping carrier providers: United Parcel Service (UPS) and the United States Post Office (USPS). As a result, we’ve again re-negotiated rates with both carriers to provide us with the most economical means to ship your orders. This shipping option gives OAS the ability to choose among several more-affordable options to ship your order, saving our customers money, and allowing OAS to continue to provide the highest quality merchandise at fair prices.

If you elect to choose the “OAS Choice” Shipping method, the following flat shipping charges will be applied to your orders that are being shipped within the Continental United States (48 States):

OAS Choice Shipping will utilize one of the following shipping methods and estimated delivery times to fulfill your order: UPS Ground (1-6 days), USPS Ground Advantage (2-5 days within the contiguous 48 states), or UPS SurePost (2-7 days within the contiguous 48 states). Exact shipping options are selected by OAS.

* - Teachers, Wholesale and programs related to our reselling programs pay actual shipping charges based on weight and dimensional size.

** - Your shipping address must be able to accept Post Office packages, and be in the Continental US in order to use this option.

** - If your shipping address cannot accept packages from the Post Office, then please select UPS Ground, and shipping charges will calculate based on the larger of actual box weight or dimensional weight (how much space the package occupies) and distance from our shipping facility in California.

** - If you want your package to be shipped by your preferred shipping method (and not selected by OAS), the shipping charges will be calculated on the larger of actual box weight or dimensional weight (how much space the package occupies) and distance from our shipping facility in California.

When completing the Checkout procedure, please note that various shipping methods are available in the drop-down box (default shows OAS Choice).

We pull the shipping rates directly from UPS for Ground and Expedited shipments, and US Postal Service for Priority Mail and USPS (Post Office) when available. Shipping via UPS is OAS’s preferred method of shipment for heavier orders (4 lbs. or more typically), large-size items or orders totaling $75 or more. For smaller orders (brushes, lessons, ink, etc) we prefer to use USPS Priority Mail or USPS (Post Office) since the savings can be considerable for our customers on shipping charges. We do charge a minimum of $9.65 for USPS Priority Mail or $5.95 for USPS (Post Office), when available, to aid with delivery to our local physical Post Office facility. If we know that we can save you money by shipping one way or the other, we will do our best to accommodate you. We have decades of experience shipping products.

Shipping Within the Continental US via UPS

As stated above, UPS is our preferred shipping method for heavier and larger orders here at OAS. We can (and do) insure your package contents (included in your shipping charges), and this is the only way to have a guaranteed delivery date (per UPS delivery times below). We have always had high customer satisfaction using UPS, especially with their real-time Tracking capability. The UPS service guide below is designed to help determine which delivery service is right for you. The map below represents ground transit time from our warehouse in Huntington Beach, CA.

We provide adequate insurance coverage for lost or damaged packages so you have no risk ordering from us. Certain areas require a signature as proof of delivery (up to the discretion of your local driver).

We e-mail you UPS Tracking information with your order so you know exactly when it will arrive to you.

Ground: Delivered between 1-6 business days depending on your location.
3 Day Select: Delivered by end of third business day (Continental US)
2nd Day Air: Delivered by end of second business day (Continental US)
Next Day Air: Delivered by next business day, typically by 10:30AM (Continental US)

Shipping Within the United States, P.O. Boxes and Small Parcels Via US Postal Service

The United States Postal Service is our preferred shipping method for lighter and smaller orders. For P.O. Boxes, APO addresses and small, lightweight packages, we offer Priority Mail and First Class delivery. In most instances transit times can be as little as two or three days (Via Priority Mail), with Saturday delivery available. While our customers have had great results in delivery times of three days or less with Priority Mail (to most areas), if you need a guaranteed delivery date (such as for an upcoming class or other need), shipping via UPS is the only way to ensure this (with a money-back refund to back it up).

Priority Mail: Typically delivered within 2-3 days. Most areas include Saturday delivery. Preferred shipping method for packages up to 2-3 pounds. USPS offers a tracking number as a courtesy, but it is up to the various transit locations to update the package progress (in other words, it is NOT as reliable as UPS tracking information). Please note that the US Post Office does not guarantee delivery times with their Priority Mail delivery service.

USPS (Post Office): 2-8 business days. Limited tracking and longer delivery times. Please note that the US Post Office does not guarantee delivery times.

Shipping International

The most cost effective way to ship to International Addresses is to use US Postal Service. Insurance is only included when requested by the customer. Tracking information is assigned to each order and emailed to you at the time of shipment by our fulfillment software. However, more up to date information on tracking, if available, can be found directly through the US Postal Service’s website at US Postal Service or by calling Customer Service at Call 1-800-ASK-USPS® (800-275-8777).

Customs and Duties vary from one country to another, so please be aware that additional charges may be collected at time of delivery. OAS will do our best to label the package (please provide EXACT address and other pertinent details in your Order) and provide the necessary paperwork to get it through Customs as quickly as possible.

First Class International: While this is the most affordable, we do not recommend using this method and the buyer assumes all risk once the package has cleared customs when traced through the USPS tracking number provided. It has been our experience this shipping method delivery time can be very long, up to several months in some cases, due to the receiving country's customs and delivery services which are completely out of our control. Likewise, we have no idea what duties and taxes will be charged for any International shipments and they are the responsibility of the buyer. Available for smaller packages that weigh less than 4 lbs including packaging, and package dimensions are a maximum COMBINED measurement of 36" (length, height and depth combined).

Priority Mail International: Available to most areas. The rates quoted on our website are estimates. If rates are higher we will contact you prior to shipping for your approval. Typical delivery time is 6-12 days depending on your location. Any additional taxes and import fees that are charged by your country are paid by the customer.

Please note that the US Post Office does not guarantee delivery times with their any of their offered services. The times listed are only estimations and are heavily affected by the pandemic in terms of commercial flights available to receiving destinations and support labor force in destinating countries.

"Worldwide" service on OAS Website is a courier service provided by DHL Express. For OAS, it has proven to be the most reliable service for shipments outside of the United States and highly recommended to use if you are shipping to countries outside of the US. If you choose to refuse delivery for whatever the reason, you will be subject to the shipping charges originally incurred on the package as well as a 20% restocking charge to cover our efforts in fulfilling the initial order.
