The loveliness of the beautiful ivory color of this stone is barely interrupted here and there by a few slight accents of delicate veins of ochre. The uniqueness of this seal comes from its carving, which covers almost three-fourths of all four sides. The intricate image of two egrets standing in a lotus garden, while deeply carved and strongly etched, still retains and conveys both the delicacy and beauty of its subject matter.
