Cicada Xuan (Shuen) rounds off OAS' line of fine line (sized) papers because of the well deserved reputation it enjoys among master fine line artists.
Cicada Xuan is the most transparent and quite delicate in comparison to Shimmer Xuan and Glass. It has a creamier antique look to it. Some sheets may have remnants of tree material. The paper is extremely thin and delicate to the touch. Like silk, mishandling of the paper may create wrinkles and creases.
This paper's name is derivative of the way that its appearance mimics the wing of the insect cicada that is symbolic in the Chinese culture.
A popular choice among Gong-bi (Fine Line artists).
